The spectacle of an overwhelming natural space

In the centre of an island which is an entire Biosphere Reserve, Betancuria stands out, especially because of its natural charms, which are protected within the Betancuria Rural Park. These include ravines, “badlands”, palm trees, mountains and plant and animal biodiversity…

To admire this spectacle of nature as it deserves, the Morro Velosa Viewpoint was designed, raised on the peak of the same name almost 700 metres above sea level, offering breathtaking views.

From here, on clear days, the view reaches from El Cotillo, to the north, to Antigua, in the southeast. Most of the municipalities of Fuerteventura are within sight. A spectacle worthy of admiration.

The building also offers an interpretative tour through the values of the Biosphere Reserve, the island’s landscapes, its climate and the island’s flora and fauna, as well as a space for temporary exhibitions of all kinds.
