The exquisite flavour of Fuerteventura

In the town of Antigua we find the Majorero Cheese Museum, the gem and
gastronomic pride of Fuerteventura. Majorero cheese has had Denomination of Origin
since 1996 and is the first goats cheese to obtain it in Spain.

The museum devoted to the renowned cheese offers a walk through the history of
Fuerteventura since its volcanic formation, passing by the aborigines, the cattle-
breeding, the Majorera goat, the tradition… and the cheese.

The space where it is located also has different attractions: a stunning windmill to
grind cereal and make gofio -another of the leading members of the local traditional
gastronomy – which is designated an Asset of Cultural Interest together with the
twenty windmills of Fuerteventura; a huge garden with cactus, local plants and palm
trees; a stylish setting for restaurants and a shop.
